First things first: Happy 30th Birthday to Matt, and thank you Rachel for throwing the great party to celebrate.

This morning, Phil and Liz and Yvonne came with me to my tiny little church, where we were continuing our series on Romans. Today, one of the pastors, Rose, compared the Christian life to the Cinderella story. Bear with me. First of all, Cinderella has a good life; rich dad who loves her and all that; Adam and Eve had a nice life in Eden. Then her dad dies and leaves her a servant to her evil step-family; we fell and so are slaves to sin. But then Cinderella's fairy godmother makes her into a star all pretty and whatnot; we get forgiven. Finally, she marries a prince and becomes the queen; we follow Christ and suddenly we get to be "more than conquerors"! How cool is that? We end up a little wiser, maybe, and way better off than we would have even imagined in the first place! Well, it spoke to me, but maybe it's a girl thing.
So after that I scooted over to TienMu with Andrea and a bunch of the girls had Indian food... yummmm... Then we went and saw Munich. It's more than a little gory, but it was pretty excellent overall. And lots of great performances. Also picked up some music (Kanye West and Jack Johnson) while we were out there. Very good day. And so nice that Beth is up visiting from Kaoshiung. On top of all that, Tuesday is Peace Day, so we get a holiday this week! What a lovely life I lead. I even managed to miss the moment before dinner when a huge rat climbed out of the sewer and charged Mel and Jessie. Hallelujah. No, for real, though.
