I had a very interesting debate with a roommate last night regarding male and female leadership roles in marriage. To get to the point of a huge issue, are the responsibilities described in Ephesians 5:22-33 unfair to either party? It sounds to me like there is a point at which the wife hands the reins over and the husband has to make the decision that is best for both of them. My roommate says this is unfair for both the husband and the wife, since we are created equals. I say God made us with certain gifts, and part of his design is for men to take responsibility in ways that women don't.
Any thoughts?
